Zamfara Assembly extends LG Sole Administrators’ tenure to May 29

The State House of Assembly has received an executive request for an extension of the Local Government Sole Administrators’ tenure from 14th April to 29th May, 2023.

Presenting the request for deliberation Friday, the House Leader, Hon. Faruk Musa Dosara, said the request was from the State Executive Governor through the office of the Secretary to the State Government requesting the House to deliberate and agree to extend the tenure of Local Government Sole Administrators as it expires by April 14th, 2023.

Commenting after receiving contributions from the members, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Nasiru Muázu Magarya said, considering the importance attached to the request and in line with the provision of sections 16 (1) and 17 of Zamfara State Local Government Law, 2022, the House has unanimously resolved to extend the tenure as contained in the request.

With this development, the tenure of the 14 Local Government Sole Administrators which expires on 14th April 2023, is extended by 45 days to expire on 29th May 2023.
