Diket Plang of APC wins Plateau Central senatorial election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Saturday declared Diket Plang, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as the winner of the Plateau Central Senatorial election.

Dr Jima Lar, INEC Returning Officer, announced the result today in Pankshin LGA after the review of the Feb. 25 National Assembly elections.

Lar said that Plang polled a total of 131,129 votes to emerge the winner of the poll.

According to him, Plang defeated close rival Yohanna Gotom of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who came second with 127,022 votes.

He added that Garba Pwul of the Labour Party (LP) came third with 36,510 votes.
