I won’t ever forget Ganduje’s wrongdoings — Ex-commissioner

Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje

As his two-term tenure in office winds down, Kano State Governor, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, says he has forgiven those who wronged him and calls on those he has also wronged to similarly forgive him.

Ganduje’s eight-year administration will end on May 29, when he is expected to hand over power to the governor-elect, Abba Yusuf of the opposition New Nigeria People’s Party.

Speaking on Saturday at a Ramadan lecture series at Al-Furqan Juma’at Mosque located at Nasarawa GRA, the governor said, “I’ve forgiven anyone who at one time or the other disparaged my person, and my character for whatever reasons, and on my part, I equally beg or seek your forgiveness for all that I’ve done wrong to you.”

He explained that he decided to forgive and seek forgiveness because “forgiveness occupies a prime spot in our religion.”

“My tenure as governor of Kano State has come to an end, and this is a farewell greeting. I wish you all the best. For those who we have wronged, forgive us, on my part, I’ve forgiven those who wronged me, no matter the weight of the offence.”

However, in a swift reaction, Ganduje’s former Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Muazu Magaji, said, “Yes, I have forgiven you, but I will never forget how you plotted to eliminate me from the surface of the earth on a number of occasions.”
