Braimoh picks Action Alliance governorship ticket in Kogi

A philanthropist from Kogi West, Olayinka Braimoh, has picked the governorship ticket of Action Alliance (AA) for the November 11 election in Kogi State.

Braimoh scored 102 votes to defeat his opponent, Simon Aku who polled four votes.

Declaring Braimoh as the winner of the primary election, the Chairman of election committee of AA, James Benebe, said Braimoh, having scored the highest votes is declared winner of the primary election.

Media Talk Africa gathered that an aspirant, Silvester Ogwu, had earlier stepped down for Braimoh.

In his acceptance speech, the AA governorship candidate thanked the party leadership for the confidence reposed in him, adding that, the day marks the beginning of a new Kogi State.

According to him, his candidacy is a journey of job and wealth creation.

He lamented the poverty level in the State, promising that his administration would deliver on the mandate given to them.

He expressed confidence that with the support of the masses, he would succeed as Governor of Kogi State if elected.
