Police probe death of Bolt passenger in Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command has commenced an investigation into circumstances that led to the death of a passenger in a Bolt car.

Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the probe to News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday.

Hundeyin said the Bolt driver reported the passing of the young man at the Ilasan Police Division on Monday.

The driver had received an order from the customer to take him from Osapa London, near Jakande, to the Ikate area of Lekki.

The spokesperson said the driver claimed that, while in transit, the deceased screamed and shouted โ€œmy heart.โ€

โ€œThe customer was rushed to a hospital at Jakande 1st Gate, and later to another hospital in Lekki, where he was pronounced dead,โ€ he said.

Police operatives visited the hospital, photographed the body and contacted members of his family.

The corpse has been deposited at the Infectious Diseases Hospital mortuary at Marina for preservation and autopsy.
