Real reason Cristiano Ronaldo’s father became alcoholic – Sister opens up

Cristiano Ronaldo’s sister, Katia Aveiro has revealed why their father, Jose Dinis Aveiro got addicted to alcohol.

Miss Aveiro said that their father had to take solace in alcohol so as to forget the deaths of friends who passed on as a result of the Angolan war.

Jose Aveiro died in 2005, had a significant influence on Ronaldo’s early love for football, but could not witness his son’s rise to superstardom.

Katia Aviero, on Wednesday, took to Instagram to pay tribute to her father’s military past, posting photos of him in his army uniform.

“These photos are from a former combatant of the Angolan war…This ex-combatant was my father and there were other people’s parents,” she wrote.

“The dictatorship did not live… it remained inside our home, in the alcoholism he carried to forget the deaths of friends… from the blood you saw in the cold war.”

Cristiano has become a household name all over the world and is arguably the greatest football player of all time.

The Portugal captain is five-time Ballon d’Or winner and is currently plying his trade at Saudi Super League side and currently his highest earning sportsman ever.
