Ronaldo blamed for Juventus’ financial troubles

Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Juventus has been the main reason behind the Serie A side’s financial troubles.

This claim was made by Fiorentina president Rocco Commisso.

Commisso claimed that Ronaldo’s massive wages have driven Juventus to bankruptcy.

Speaking to Mediaset, the Italian-born American billionaire said: “Income’s a problem for us, [but] we don’t want to end up like Juventus.

“Their problems started when they signed Cristiano Ronaldo and that is not going to happen with Fiorentina. I don’t know where we’re going, but we are certainly not going to end up bankrupt.”

Juventus signed Ronaldo from Real Madrid in a massive €117 million deal back in 2018.
