Ode-Omu accident: Gov Adeleke condoles with victims’ families

Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke has expressed shock over the fatal road accident which occured in Ode-Omu town on Friday evening.

He described it as a sad and unfortunate occurrence in a message commiserating with friends and families of the accident victims made available by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, on Sunday in Osogbo.

While praying for eternal rest for the victims of the deadly crash, Adeleke also prayed God to grant the deceased’s families the fortitude to bear the loss.

According to him, “It is a loss not only for their families but for Osun state as whole.

“I commiserate with friends and families of victims of the Ode-Omu road accident which took several lives.

“It is a very shocking incident that is very sad and at the same time very unfortunate.

“May God grant the deceased eternal rest and grant the family fortitude to bear the loss.

“This is not a loss for the family alone but indeed a loss for Osun state.”

Media Talk Africa had reported that a fatal accident occured in Ode-Omu town in the Ayedaade Local Government Area of the state.

According to the Osun Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC, the accident occured when two vehicles, a white commercial Mazda bus with registration number; APP834XT had a head on collision with a white Lexus jeep with number; LSR304HW.

It was also revealed that the commercial bus was traveling with a gas cylinder inside it.

Sixteen passengers, 11 adults and five children, were burnt beyond recognition while four persons sustained serious burn injuries.
