Osun road accident sad, unfortunate – Adeleke

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on Sunday, described the Ode Omu road accident in which 16 passengers including 5 children were burnt to death, as ‘sad and unfortunate.’

16 people travelling in a commercial 18-passenger bus that took off from Osogbo, Osun State capital, heading to Ibadan were burnt to death in the crash which occurred Friday evening in Odeomu.

Adeleke in a statement by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed obtained in Osogbo, however, commiserates with friends, families and residents of the state who were victims of the accident.

He prayed to God to grant the deceased eternal rest and grant their families the fortitude to bear the loss, adding that it was a loss not only for the deceased families but for the state as a whole.

The statement partly read, “I commiserate with friends and families of victims of the Odeomu road accident which took several lives.

“It is a very shocking incident that is very sad and at the same time very unfortunate.

May God grant the deceased eternal rest and grant the family fortitude to bear the loss.

“This is not a loss for the family alone but indeed a loss for Osun State.
