Lobi Stars target first Federation Cup success

Lobi Stars have shifted their focus to the Federation Cup as they travel to Abuja to play Cynosure FC in their Round of 32 contest at the Area 3 Stadium, Abuja.

The Pride of Rivers defeated Nigeria National League (NNL) outfit, FC One Rocket 5-3 on penalties in the previous round.

Mohammed Babaganaru’s side were pushed by One Rocket and needed a late equaliser to salvage a 2-2 draw before triumphing in the shootout.

Rivers United will be buoyed by their 1-0 win against Niger Tornadoes in the Nigeria Premier Football League last weekend.

The Makurdi club are overwhelming favourites to beat Cynosure.

Lobi Stars won the competition once in 2003.
