U-17 AFCON: Golden Eaglets coach Ugbade prepares for tactical battle against Morocco

Golden Eaglets head coach, Nduka Ugbade, has reckoned his side’s duel against Morocco on Wednesday will be a massive tactical battle.

Both teams will lock horns in the Group B encounter at the Stade Mohamed Hamlaoui, Constantine.

Morroco occupies the top position in the group albeit on goal difference having defeated South Africa 2-0 in their first game.

Ugbade’s Golden Eaglets who defeated Zambia 1-0 last Sunday are second in the group.

The tactician admitted he has huge respect for the North Africans but stated that his side will fight till the end to clinch three points and move top of the group.
“It is going to be a very tough match and I must admit that I am very afraid of Morocco myself. But, we are going for just three things―win, win, win,” Ugbade said in Tuesday’s press conference.

The winner between the Golden Eaglets and the Atlas Cubs will seal their place in the quarter-finals and move a step closer to securing a berth at the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup.
Ugbade said he want his team to achieve the feat.

“Morocco is a very good tactical side. I watched a bit of their match against South Africa and I was impressed with how they played. They defend very well and are tactically disciplined and very compact. We are going to see a very big tactical battle,” said the coach.
