IG performs groundbreaking ceremony of police quarters in Abuja

The Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, accompanied by members of the Force Management Team, on Wednesday, unveiled a 4.5 hectares piece of land at Zone 6, Wuse, Abuja, for the construction of 50 terraces bungalows, a clubhouse, and a state-of-the-art sports complex, amongst others.

According to a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, the event marked the commencement of construction works at the project site and was attended by senior police officers and other dignitaries.

Adejobi said, “The project which is being coordinated and managed by Nigeria Police Force under the auspices of the Nigeria Police Properties Limited, will cover an area of 4.5 hectares and comprise 50 terraces of bungalows, a clubhouse, and a state-of-the-art sports complex amongst others with modern facilities and structures.

“The Inspector-General of Police emphasised his commitment to the welfare of Police Officers during his remarks at the occasion.

“He expressed the desire of his administration to create a police force with suitable accommodations for its personnel and noted that various large-scale barrack projects are currently underway and will continue to be implemented under his leadership.”
