Ligue: I’m super happy Messi is leaving, you don’t deserve him – Kombouare slams PSG

Former Paris Saint-Germain manager Antoine Kombouare has slammed the French champions over how they have handled Lionel Messi at the club.

Kombouare, who is currently Nantes manager, expressed joy that the 35-year-old is leaving PSG, insisting the club does not deserve the 2022 FIFA World Cup winner.

Messi made a sensational move from Barcelona to PSG in 2021. The football icon has often faced criticisms from fans and experts for his performances.

The Argentina captain is currently serving a two-week suspension handed him by the club for his ‘unauthorized’ trip to Saudi Arabia.

Reports in Europe say that the 7-time Ballon d’Or winner has concluded plans to leave the club and Kombouare his former club for not respecting the superstar the way he should.

“It annoys me. I’ve always said: we don’t touch Messi. Whatever he does. I’m passionate , I like the player,” he Nantes manager said, according to RMC Sport.

“It’s shameful. We don’t touch Messi! I’m in love with the player. He’s going to leave, I’m super happy. We don’t deserve it. I love him.”

The former Barcelona ace scored 31 goals and has provided 34 assists in 71 matches for the Paris-based club.
