We gave our all – Golden Eaglets’ Eke on win against South Africa

Golden Eaglets striker, Light Eke has hailed the team’s remarkable victory against South Africa at the 2023 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations.

Nduka Ugbade’s side fell behind twice in the game but came out 3-2 victors.

The Golden Eaglets finished in second place in Group B behind the Atlas Cubs of Morocco.

The two-time winners will face either Cameroon or Burkina Faso in the quarterfinals.

“It was a good match,” Eke said in a short video posted on the NFF’s Twitter handle.

“We gave our all. From the beginning, we knew that we came for a win. We listened to our coaches, so we worked hard during the match, gave it our all with team effort, all thanks to God.”

Eke also hailed the fans in Constantine, Algeria, for their massive support.

“They are great, they supported us very well, and they made the match entertaining,” he said.
