LG chairman donates cash to 40 widows, land to CAN in Lagos

Ikorodu Local Government Council chairman, Wasiu Adesina, has donated cash gifts of N10,000 to 40 widows and foodstuff during the council’s third annual thanksgiving event tagged “Joyful Noise.” Additionally, Adesina presented a piece of land to the Ikorodu chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) for a church building project.

Adesina promised to support CAN in fast-tracking the building of the cathedral and expressed delight at the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s victory at the 2023 general elections. “Our methods of worship may differ, but the Holy Books still direct us to one God for us to regard Him in oneness and appreciate His sovereignty,” he said.

Abolanle Adesina, the council boss’ wife, said the event was an opportunity for residents to thank God for progress made during the administration and the successes recorded during the general elections. Pastor Femi Gilbert of the Daylight Revival Church International appreciated Adesina for his kind gesture.

The chairman’s philanthropic act demonstrates the importance of reaching out to the less privileged in society and supporting religious organisations. Adesina’s commitment to supporting developmental projects in the council area is commendable and sets a positive example for other government officials to follow.
