Over 2 Million Beneficiaries Recorded by NG-CARES in a Year – Minister

The Minister of State for Budget and National Planning, Mr Clem Agba, has announced that the COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus Programme, via the Federal Government, has recorded more than two million beneficiaries in Sokoto State in just a year. Mr Clem made this statement in Sokoto State, during the first-ever Ministerial Town Hall meeting on NG-CARES beneficiaries in the Zamfara, Kebbi, and Sokoto states.

Mr Aso Vakporaye, the Chairman of the NG-CARES technical committee, represented the Minister. The Minister stated that part of the current administration’s responsibility is to periodically interact with stakeholders to ensure government accountability to the states. The meeting’s primary goal was to obtain the beneficiaries’ direct opinions on government policies and initiatives, as well as to gauge the state of the nation.

The Minister also noted that the NG-CARES program draws some of its beneficiaries from the National Social Register, making it critical to inquire about the effectiveness of this strategy. It is crucial to receive feedback and contributions from the beneficiaries, as they will be invaluable to the administration’s social inclusion initiatives.

The Minister promised that the Buhari-led administration remains determined to deliver socio-economic development to Nigerians, even if it has only a few seconds left in office. Nigerians will continue to receive support from the government as they strive to build an inclusive nation.
