OPC Removes Coordinator Over Alleged Organizational Malpractices

The Oyo State chapter of Oodua People’s Congress (OPC) has announced the removal of its coordinator, Rotimi Oguntade, over alleged organizational malpractices. The state secretary, Wasiu Adeogun, released a statement, revealing that the decision to remove Oguntade, alongside the state commandant, Lateef Babalola, was enforced due to attitudes that could tarnish the image of the OPC in the state.

According to Adeogun, the highest decision-making organs of the organization, which are the National Executive Council and the National Coordinating Council, ratified the decision. He emphasized that the decision is effective and cannot be altered.

It was reported that Oguntade was involved in various unethical acts during his tenure. Adeogun stated that the decision was unavoidable after Olumo raised his voice in the media, challenging his dismissal without providing evidence and insisting that he remained the coordinator of OPC in the state. His conduct further proved his desperation, which is unacceptable for the organization’s leadership.

In his statement, Adeogun reiterated that OPC is a well-structured and coordinated socio-cultural organization, and the activities in Oyo State have been well-coordinated without any hindrance. He encouraged members to remain focused on the organization’s goal and warned other desperate individuals who might try to disrupt the peace and development of the organization.

Despite the recent changes in Oyo State OPC leadership, the scribe reassured the public that the organization is not weakened by such removals. He emphasized that the organization has survived many challenges in the past and will continue to thrive under strong and ethical leadership.
