In a bid to ensure the total eradication of Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists in the Lake Chad Basin region, the Force Commander (FC) Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), Maj Gen GU Chibuisi, has charged the troops. Lieutenant Colonel Kamarudeen Adegoke, the Chief Military Public Information Officer, MNJTF, revealed in a statement that the Force Commander made this statement during the closing ceremony of the nautical training organized for MNJTF troops at Djouguia N’Djamena.

Major General Chibuisi further admonished the troops to utilize the skills acquired during training. He emphasized that the training of troops was a necessary tool for capacity building that enhanced their effectiveness in the fight against insurgency.

The troops’ positive attitudes towards training demonstrated their commitment to the fight against terrorist activities. Also, relevant training has continued to equip the troops with the necessary skills to confront the terrorists. This, in turn, has paved the way for internally displaced persons to return to their ancestral homes, creating a peaceful and secured environment. Consequently, there has been an improvement in socio-economic activities in communities and an increase in terrorists who surrender to the troops.

In his statement, Gen Chibuisi expressed his gratitude to strategic partners who facilitated the training. The Force Commander’s message to the troops, coupled with his appreciation, has left them with no excuse but to end the activities of the Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists in the Lake Chad Basin region.
