How I survive tough times — Yinka Davies

A popular singer and actress, Yinka Davies, says that she survived the tough times in her life by the grace of Jesus Christ.

In an interview with Sunday Scoop, Davies, who lost her 27-year-old son, Jeremiah, on January 29, 2021, said, “It is by the grace of Jesus Christ that one can get through this harsh situation we all are in.”

The voice coach also noted that she was content with what she presently had. She said, “I am content with what I am blessed with, and that’s enough. Being flashy is not a problem either as long as it is not a do-or-die affair, where one cannot do certain things unless it appears flashy. That is a ‘no’ for me.”

The jazz singer, who had previously spoken about being tempted to try other sounds, maintained that she would soon get a chance to perform other genres of music.

Asked which she found more challenging between singing and acting, Davies said, “For each profession, one needs time to harness, train for, and master them, yet still keep learning. Each one requires intricate attention.”

On if there was anything she wished for, the entertainer answered, “I wish to know Jesus Christ more than I know Him now, and to be an obedient daughter to God Almighty, as well as to be a true best friend to the Holy Spirit.”
