President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Nigeria’s very first Geology professor, Aremo Professor Mosobalaje Oyawoye.

In a statement released by his spokesperson, Mr Garba Shehu, Buhari described the late Oyawoye as a remarkable scholar and thinker who stood firmly for national progress and aspiration.

In his message of condolence to the deceased’s family and people in Offa, Kwara State, Buhari expressed sadness over the recent loss of critical elder statesmen and great men who had immensely impacted the lives of Nigerians.

While acknowledging that only Almighty Allah can explain the mysteries of death, President Buhari prayed for the peaceful repose of the scholar’s soul, adding that he would be dearly missed by the nation, his family, friends, and numerous admirers.
