A recent report by the World of Statistics has revealed the countries with the highest rate of suicide deaths in 2019.

South Africa tops the list with a recorded rate of 23.5 followed closely by Russia, South Korea, Kazakhstan, and Ukraine.

In these countries, at least 2.2 percent of 100,000 people took their own lives.

While more developed countries like the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom are positioned lower on the list, it is important to note that the number of suicide deaths is still a concern in these regions.

India, which is one of the most populated countries globally, is also high on the list. In 2019, 12.9 individuals per 100,000 people lost their lives to suicide.

Notably, Nigeria, which is Africa’s most populated country, is ranked 41 on the list, with 6.9 recorded suicide deaths per 100,000 individuals in 2019.

It is crucial for governments and organizations to prioritize mental health and promote awareness of suicide prevention in countries worldwide.
