Chelsea Owner Todd Boehly Reduces Active Management of Club

After Chelsea’s worst season in 29 years, owner Todd Boehly has begun taking a step back from active management of the club.

Following a six hundred million pound spending spree on players across two transfer windows, the club performed poorly under the watchful eye of Boehly, who subsequently saw Thomas Tuchel and Frank Lampard both fail to make a positive impact. Chelsea will finish in 12th place in the Premier League this season.

Bloomberg recently reported that Boehly has decided to reduce his direct involvement in Chelsea’s operations. According to the report, he only spends 20% of his time on the club’s daily activities, down from around 50% previously. This move has given Chelsea’s sporting directors more significant responsibilities.
