Frank Lampard comments on Raheem Sterling’s exclusion from England’s Euro 2024 qualifiers

Former Chelsea caretaker manager, Frank Lampard, has given his opinion on the exclusion of Raheem Sterling from England’s squad for the Euro 2024 qualifiers against Malta and North Macedonia next month, by coach Gareth Southgate.

In addition to Sterling, fellow Chelsea players Mason Mount and Ben Chilwell were also left out, as well as Arsenal’s Ben White.

Lampard commented that Sterling is a “top-level player” and believes that Southgate will find a solution that benefits both Sterling and the England team.

During his pre-match press conference before Chelsea’s Premier League fixture against Manchester United at Old Trafford, Lampard acknowledged that these end-of season matches could pose different challenges, particularly for players who have played a lot of games and minutes.

If there is a “mutual conversation,” between Sterling and Southgate, Lampard is confident that they will come up with a decision that works well for both the player and the national team.
