Nnamdi Kanu Needs Urgent Ear Surgery – IPOB Counsel

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, is reportedly in urgent need of ear surgery. This news was disclosed by Aloy Ejimakor, the special counsel to the secessionist, through his official Twitter handle on Thursday night.

As per Ejimakor, the Department of State Security Services (DSS) Medical Unit gave the recommendation for Kanu’s surgery amidst his deteriorating health condition. Ejimakor further stated that one of his colleagues, Barr Mandela Umegborogu, was informed of Kanu’s condition during his visit to the DSS headquarters in Abuja.

During the visit, Umegborogu reportedly conveyed that Kanu directed that the information be made public. The tweet from Ejimakor reads: “Today, my colleague, Barr Mandela Umegborogu visited Onyendu #MNK at the DSS. He informs that Onyendu directed me to make it public that the DSS Medical Unit has recommended urgent ear SURGERY for him. But what remains is the formal approval of the DSS leadership.”

It is still unclear if the DSS leadership has given approval for the proposed ear surgery for Nnamdi Kanu. The IPOB leader was extradited to Nigeria in June and has since been in custody awaiting trials for several charges. This recent development about his health is sure to elicit concern from Kanu’s supporters and well-wishers.
