Abide by rules, regulations during Hajj exercise in Saudi Arabia – NAHCON tells pilgrims

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has advised Nigerian pilgrims to abide by the rules and regulations during this year’s Hajj exercise in Saudi Arabia.

The commission made this disclosure during the 2023 Hajj inaugural flight at the pilgrims terminal in Abuja on Thursday.

The ceremony was attended by Saudi Arabia Ambassador to Nigeria, His Excellency Faisal bin Ibrahim Al-Ghamdi and Professor Ishaq Olanrewaju Oloyede, who represented the Sultan of Sokoto and president General, Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs,Faisal bin Ibrahim Al-Ghamdi .

Media Talk Africa reports that Holy pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia (Mecca and Medinah) is the fifth pillar of Islamic religion.

NAHCON Chairman, Alhaji Zikrullah Kunle Hassan who addressed the pilgrims, urged them to abide by the rules and regulations during Hajj exercise in Saudi Arabia.

He said that all Nigerian pilgrims traveling for the Hajj exercise are ambassadors of the country.

Hassan said, “95000. Made up of 75,000 regular or state pilgrims and 20,000 for the tour operators.

“Let me seize this opportunity to implore our pilgrims to be good representatives of Nigeria by abiding to the rules and regulations of our host country, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia”.
