President Buhari Attends Inauguration Dinner Ahead of Swearing-In Ceremony

The President of Nigeria, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (Retd.) was in attendance at the inauguration dinner and gala night that held on Sunday, ahead of Monday’s swearing-in ceremony of the President-elect, Bola Tinubu and Vice-President-elect, Kashim Shettima.

Despite the dinner scheduled to begin by 8:00 pm, President Buhari’s convoy was sighted leaving his Glass House residence to the conference center as early as 7:32 pm on Sunday.

As of the time of filing this report, tight access control had been put in place at the venue to monitor the influx of guests.

Notable dignitaries at the dinner include Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, the President-elect and Vice President-elect, as well as their spouses, ministers, permanent secretaries, heads of government agencies, among others.

The inauguration dinner and gala night rounded up activities of the President-elect’s inauguration ceremony, which kicked off on Friday with the Juma’at prayers in Abuja Central Mosque. The swearing-in ceremony will hold on Monday at the Eagle Square in Abuja.

The event signifies the beginning of a new tenure for the President-elect, Bola Tinubu and his counterpart, Kashim Shettima, who would be taking charge of Nigeria’s affairs for the next four years.
