Poly Ibadan Granted Licence to Operate Radio Station by NBC

The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has approved a licence for The Polytechnic, Ibadan, to operate a radio station, Poly Ibadan FM.

In a statement released by the Registrar of the institution, Mrs Modupe Theresa Fawale, the right to run the station was conveyed via a letter from NBC with reference number NBC/SEC/LIC/19/VOL.iv, dated May 22, 2023.

The letter, addressed to the Rector of the institution, Professor Kazeem Adekunle Adebiyi, was signed by secretary to the commission, Igomu Onoja, on behalf of the Director General of NBC.

While the licence is a temporary one, the statement noted that the institution will complete all the required payments in due time to acquire a permanent licence.

This latest development is a significant milestone for The Polytechnic, Ibadan, as it joins other higher institutions of learning in Nigeria that have radio and TV stations to aid education and research efforts.
