Kano governor appoints Sagagi as Chief of Staff, Baffa Bichi as SSG, Laminu Rabiu as pilgrims board ES

The governor of Kano State, Abba Yusuf, has appointed a former chairman of Kano chapter of the PDP, Shehu Sagagi and a former executive secretary of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund, TETFund, Baffa Bichi as Chief of Staff and Secretary to the State Government, SSG, respectively.

The governor also appointed Farouq Kurawa and Abdullahi Rogo as Principal Private Secretary and Chief Protocol Officer respectively.

Sanusi Dawakintofa, who has been the governor’s spokesman throughout the campaign and transition periods, is appointed as Chief Press Secretary to the new governor.

A statement by Mr Dawakintofa said the appointments take effect from Monday May 29, 2023.

The statement added that the appointees were selected based on their track records, commitment and loyalty.

In another statement released in the early hours of Tuesday, the governor appointed Yusuf Lawan and Laminu Rabiu as chairman and executive secretary of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board respectively.

Members of the board appointed by the governor include Abbas Abubakar Daneji, Shehi Shehi-Maihula, Munir Lawan, Isma’il Mangu, Aishatu Munir Matawalle and Sani Ashir.

According to the statement, the appointees are to takeover the affairs of the board immediately to ensure successful 2023 Hajj operation.
