Gunmen kill security man, abduct two in Ogun 

Unknown gunmen have reportedly killed a security man and kidnapped two people at Olam Farms area located in Ogun State on Tuesday evening.

According to reports, the gunmen, numbering about six, stormed the area around 6:30 pm and attacked the occupants of the farm, carting away unspecified valuables.

The deceased security man, identified as Wasiu, was said to have engaged the gunmen in a gun battle but was overpowered and killed on the spot.

The abductees, whose identities are yet to be known, were said to have been taken away by the kidnappers in the process.

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer in Ogun State, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, revealed that the Commissioner of Police, CP Edward Ajogun, has deployed the anti-kidnapping unit, as well as the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) to the area in a bid to rescue the abductees and track down the perpetrators.

In recent times, cases of kidnapping and banditry have skyrocketed in Ogun State, particularly in the Yewa axis of the state. The police have assured the public of their commitment to ending the wave of crime in the state.
