JAMB Refutes Rumours of Recruitment Scam in Akure

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has swiftly refuted rumours regarding an employment recruitment exercise that the Board is said to be executing in Akure, Ondo State.

In a statement made available to the public, JAMB’s spokesman, Fabian Benjamin, advised Nigerians to discard the news since the examination body is not hiring personnel for any position in its offices.

The warning issued by JAMB comes in the wake of a purported “employment syndicate” advertising job vacancies for secretarial and clerical positions in the board, using the name of JAMB’s Ondo State office in a dedicated social media account.

The name of the syndicate is “Akure Job and Business Advert Forum”, and it is situated at Quarters 92 Alagbaka Estate, near the CBN office, IBB Avenue, in Akure, Ondo State.

The Board’s statement revealed that such information is false, and the public should be careful, and should not do business with anybody related to that platform or similar ones that claim to be recruiting staff on behalf of JAMB.

The examination Board warned that legal action would be taken against anyone found culpable of such acts.

The statement reads in part, “Members of the public are, therefore, advised to be wary of the shenanigans of mischief makers out to defraud hapless job seekers as all notifications by the Board are made only through its approved channels.”
