Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State has declared a state of emergency in the education sector. He cited the poor state of primary and secondary schools in the state as the reason for the declaration. Governor Kefas made this known during an interactive session with newsmen in Jalingo, the state capital.
According to him, his administration has designed plans to give education the much-needed attention in the state. He also revealed that they have templates that will guide what they want all schools in the state to look like.
The governor promised to transform the sector before the end of his first hundred days in office. He went further to state that 80 percent of his commissioners will be young persons who will assist in propelling the state to enviable heights.
Governor Kefas assured the people of Taraba State that his government would revive primary and secondary schools across the 16 local government areas, including special development areas. Part of his plans includes providing infrastructure and building new schools where necessary.
It would be recalled that the governor had recently sacked all the former governor, Ishaku’s commissioners, special advisers, as well as heads of boards and parastatals. With this bold move, Governor Kefas has proven his commitment to restoring the education sector in Taraba State.
