Gov. Sanwo-Olu Receives Signed Saka Jersey, Declares Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka as His Favourite Player

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has expressed his admiration for Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka, describing him as his favourite player on the English Premier League side.

The Governor made this statement during Saka’s visit to the Lagos House, Marina, where he handed over his own signed Saka jersey to Sanwo-Olu.

In a post on his Facebook page, Sanwo-Olu shared his excitement, saying, “Exciting day at the State House, Marina today as I had the pleasure of hosting my favourite Arsenal player, star boy Bukayo Saka.”

He further wrote that he was proud of Arsenal’s inspiring run in the Premier League with such a young team, emphasising the power of youth.

Sanwo-Olu added that he and his team are committed to creating opportunities for talented young players in grassroots football in Lagos State.

The visit to Lagos State is part of Saka’s travel itinerary, which also included a visit to Egbeda, the area of residence of his parents. Clad in a white native dress and sneakers, Saka acknowledged cheers from a clamorous crowd chanting “Saka, Saka” as he moved around the neighbourhood.

Saka has been phenomenal in Arsenal’s recent successes, including leading the team to win the Premier League last season, which has endeared him to fans worldwide.
