Gunmen Strike: One Killed, Two Leaders Abducted in Bauchi Community

In the Ningi Local Government Area of Bauchi State, gunmen have killed one person and abducted three others, including two community leaders. SP Ahmed Wakil, the command’s spokesperson, confirmed the incident in an interview in Bauchi on Monday with the News Agency of Nigeria.

According to Wakil, the Balma community was attacked by gunmen on Saturday night. During the attack, one person was killed, and three others, including two community leaders, were abducted.

The village leader in Balma community, Hussaini Saleh, 48, was among those taken, as well as Idris Mai Unguwa and Ya’u Gandu Maliya.

Despite the police’s immediate response to the scene, the victim was later declared dead at the General Hospital in Ningi.

Wakil confirmed that the police in Ningi Division are currently combing the bush, attempting to rescue the two abducted leaders alive while also appealing to citizens to report any suspicious activities to security agencies for prompt action.

This incident, like many other attacks in Nigeria, highlights the need for security measures to be reinforced in the country’s rural areas.
