Jose Peseiro, the head coach of the Super Eagles, has congratulated Enyimba Football Club for winning a record ninth Nigeria Premier League (NPL) title. Enyimba was crowned champion of the 2022-23 NPL season, following a 1-1 draw with Rivers United at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos on Sunday night.
The Aba-based club had previously clinched their last NPL title in 2019 in Lagos, making them the most successful Nigerian club in history.
Peseiro, who graced the tournament, sent kind words to all the teams that participated in the competition.
“Congratulations to the new champions, Enyimba FC, for the ninth title win in their history. Congratulations to the other five teams that participated in the Super Six play-off,” Peseiro tweeted.
