“I feel like lion, tiger” – New IGP Egbetokun declares war on criminals

Nigeria’s newly appointed acting Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, has vowed to eradicate criminal activities plaguing the country.

Egbetokun made this pledge after being decorated by Vice President Kashim Shettima at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Tuesday.

Following the removal of Usman Baba, President Bola Tinubu appointed Egbetokun as the new acting IGP.

During his address to State House Correspondents after the decoration ceremony, the new IGP expressed his readiness to assume the role, stating, “Now, I have just been decorated, and I am looking forward to taking over tomorrow morning by 11 am.

“I really can’t describe how I feel presently, but if I have to tell you anything, I will tell you that right now, I feel like a tiger inside of me, ready to chase away all the criminals in Nigeria.

“And at other times, I feel like a lion, ready to devour all the internal enemies of Nigeria. That’s my feeling right now.”
