Nwifuru Vows to Bring Perpetrators to Justice in Reaction to Killing of INEC Staff and Ohaneze Youth Leader’s Father in Ebonyi

Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has expressed his deep concern and outrage over the recent killings of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) staff member, Emmanuel Igwe, and the father of the Ohaneze youth leader, Aja Okeafor, allegedly by suspected Fulani herdsmen in the state.

The tragic incident also saw the kidnapping of the late INEC staff member’s wife, who is still being held captive by the kidnappers, allegedly demanding ransom.

Addressing journalists in Abakaliki, Governor Nwifuru, through the Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, Mr. Jude Okpor, assured the public that the government would spare no efforts in bringing the perpetrators to justice.

He stated, “It is heartbreaking, but I want to assure you that the governor will not leave any stone unturned to tackle this. This kind of issue cannot be discussed in public.”

“The governor has given the necessary directives, and I believe, in no distant time, the perpetrators of this heinous crime will be brought to justice,” he added.
