President Buhari Reveals Reason Behind Escape to London from Daura

Former President Muhammadu Buhari recently shed light on why he made an unexpected departure from his hometown of Daura in Katsina State and sought solace in the serene city of London. In a statement released by his former media aide, Garba Shehu, Buhari explained that his decision was driven by his desire to find a peaceful environment away from the constant influx of visitors.

Buhari’s initial plan was to retreat to his beloved Daura, hoping to bask in the tranquility of his childhood home. However, it quickly became apparent that this aspiration was far from reality. Morning, day, and night, a constant stream of visitors flocked to his residence, making it impossible for him to find the peace and solitude he sought.

In his quest for respite, Buhari made the decision to relocate to a more distant location, which turned out to be London. By taking this step, he hoped to create a space conducive for his much-needed rest. Additionally, the move was intended to provide the new administration, led by President Bola Tinubu, with the appropriate ambiance to fulfill their promises to the Nigerian people.

After the conclusion of his presidency, Buhari retreated to the familiar embrace of his hometown. However, the need for tranquility and privacy compelled him to embark on a journey to London. During his stay in the British capital, Buhari had the opportunity to meet with President Tinubu, fostering a fruitful exchange of ideas and plans for the future.

President Buhari’s departure from Daura to London underscores the importance of finding a conducive environment to recharge and contemplate. It serves as a reminder that even leaders require moments of solitude to gather their thoughts and prepare for future endeavors. As the nation watches with anticipation, it is hopeful that Buhari’s desire for a quiet retreat will ultimately contribute to the realization of promises made by the Tinubu administration.
