Abia: Otti suspends principals of all nursing/midwifery institutions

Governor Alex Otti of Abia has suspended the principals of all state-owned nursing/midwifery training institutions in the state, pending investigations and directives.

He also suspended the Director of Nursing in the State’s Ministry of Health, Nwosu Dorathy Njideka.

The suspension orders were contained in a message signed by Mr Kazie Uko, his Chief Press Secretary, on Friday.

Though no reason was given for their suspension, the statement said that the suspension of the heads of nursing/midwifery institutions is with immediate effect.

It would be recalled that Governor Otti warned students and their parents against paying school and other fees into unapproved bank accounts.

The governor directed that all payments be made into approved bank accounts in UBA, warning that any money paid into unapproved bank accounts would not be acceptable to the government.
