NYSC Gives Insight into Delay in Payment of June Allowance for Corps Members

In an attempt to clarify the recent delay in the payment of corps members’ June 2023 monthly allowance, the management of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has provided some key explanations.

The NYSC revealed that all necessary arrangements for the payment of the allowance were duly completed on June 27. Promptly, these funds were remitted to the respective banks on the same day.

Eddy Megwa, the NYSC Director of Press and Public Relations, released a statement emphasizing that the scheme is currently engaged in a diligent process of coordinating with the banks to expedite the payment of the outstanding June allowance to corps members.

Addressing the corps members directly, Megwa urged them to remain composed, law-abiding, and committed in the execution of their national service duties. He assured them that the NYSC remains fully dedicated to prioritizing their welfare and will actively address any concerns that may arise.
