Do Not Allow Enemies Cause Division Among You – Ezendigbo Urges Yorubas and Igbos

The Ezendigbo of Oyo State, Alex Anozie, has called on the Igbos and Yorubas not to allow enemies to sow discord among the people of Southern Nigeria.

In a statement released on Monday, Anozie expressed concern over the rising trend of disunity propagated by certain individuals that promote hatred between the Igbos and Yorubas across the country.

He emphasized that this development is detrimental to peaceful coexistence among the various ethnic groups in Southern Nigeria.

Anozie further debunked the notion that Igbos hate Yorubas or vice versa, urging leaders of both ethnic groups to take action and ensure that the destructive forces aiming to dismantle the unity of the South do not succeed.

The Ezendigbo advised the leaders to caution their followers and discourage any acts or statements that could fuel division within the country.

He went on to encourage the people of the region to support one another and work together to develop the zone.

“Leaders in all areas must now begin to caution their followers, supporters, and subjects, enlightening them about the grave danger that lies ahead if we do not tread softly,” Anozie emphasized.

He added, “It is not true that we cannot live in peace in Nigeria. Religious leaders who preach deceit, confusion, and false prophecies should please stop, in the interest of our peace.”

Highlighting the importance of the relationship between the Yorubas and Igbos, Anozie urged them to unite against the satanic forces working to undermine their long-standing cordial relationship.

He concluded, “We should also strive to ensure that peace and love for one another reign throughout the entire country. We must desist from sowing seeds of hatred in our lives. Whatever misunderstandings we have, we should come together and resolve them amicably.”
