Nigerian Police, Civil Defence Collaborate on strengthening security in Anambra State

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has collaborated with the Nigeria Police Force on securing Anambra State and clamping down on criminal elements within the State.

This collaboration was affirmed by the new Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, CP Aderemi Adeoye, when he paid a courtesy visit to the State Commandant of NSCDC, Mr. Edwin Osuala at the State Command Headquarters in Awka, the state capital.

CP Aderemi Adeoye stated that his visit was to familiarize with the State Commandant, pledge his continuous support and collaboration with the NSCDC in the fight against crime and criminality in the state.

“My purpose of coming is to emphasize to all and sundry especially the public that we are partners in progress and by being partners, criminals cannot take advantage of us. The synergy we are going to forge will be strong and adequate enough to deal with criminals. We will work assiduously to develop a robust relationship to deal with security challenges confronting us,” he said.

Responding, the NSCDC Commandant, Edwin Osuala welcomed the new CP to the state and wished him well in his new assignment.

Osuala described the cooperation among security agencies in the state as outstanding, restating his desire to work with the CP and other sister security agencies to stem criminal activities in the state.

He said “on my arrival to Anambra, I met a working synergy among all the security agencies. We shall continue to work in synergy to stem the tide of insecurity in the state. We will achieve more result when we work together and share Intelligence”.

The State Commandant also appealed to the CP to always acknowledge the contributions of other agencies in any successful operations by the State Joint Task Force as a mark of respect.
