Kano Assembly confirms 2 commissioner nominees

The Kano State House of Assembly has screened and confirmed two additional commissioner nominees sent to it by Governor Abba Kabir-Yusuf.

The confirmation followed their successful screening on the floor of the Assembly presided over by the speaker, Ismail Falgore on Monday.

The commissioner nominees were Sheikh Tijani Auwal and Aisha Lawal-Saji.

In his remarks, the Speaker tasked the commissioners to justify their appointments by being dedicated to portfolios that would be assigned to them.

He also urged them to complement the efforts of the governor in the development of the state.

Speaking with newsmen the appointees expressed happiness at their nominations by the governor, describing the opportunity as a call to serve the people of the state.

They also promised to contribute their quota to the development of the state.

The Assembly had so far screened and confirmed 22 commissioner nominees.
