DSS plans to re-arrest Emefiele – Lawyers raise alarm

Lawyers to the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele have raised the alarm that the Department of State Services plans to re-arrest their client despite the bail granted him by a Federal High Court in Lagos.

According to Channels Television, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Joseph Daudu, disclosed this shortly after the court sitting in Lagos.

Media Talk Africa reported that the court granted Emefiele N20 million bail upon his arraignment for alleged illegal possession of firearms.

Daudu alleged that the DSS is currently positioned to re-arrest Emefiele despite the ruling.

As of the time of filing this report, the suspended CBN governor is still holed up inside the courtroom with his lawyers.
