Ten Hag rates Onana’s performance high in Man Utd’s 2-0 defeat to Real Madrid

Manchester United boss, Erik ten Hag was pleased with goalkeeper Andre Onana’s performance during the Red Devils’ pre-season friendly 2-0 defeat to Real Madrid at the NRG Stadium in Texas.

Ten Hag said Onana, who joined Man United from Inter Milan, was good and solid against Real Madrid.

Goals from Jude Bellingham and Joselu gave Real Madrid the victory over Man United.

“I think good, solid,” Ten Hag said of Onana’s display after the game.
“Two very good saves. He was there in the moment the team needed him, so he did his job. I think he integrated well into our team.

“This is the first game and detail, we have a lot of work to do between him and the defending part (of the team). You could see with the second goal where we aren’t close at the back post. It can’t be that and goals will come there.

“There are things that are rules we have to follow, and they will come quick, that we integrate that into our way of play.”
