Gov. Uba Sani appoints Bashir Zuntu as accountant general

The governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani, has approved the appointment of Bashir Suleiman-Zuntu as the new accountant general of the state.

This was contained in a statement issued by the chief press secretary to the governor, Muhammad Lawal Shehu.

He said the appointee is a chartered accountant, a monitoring and evaluation specialist, and astute administrator.

โ€œHe served as Senior Accountant, Federal Ministry of Trade and Investment, and Senior Accountant, Finance and Accounts Department, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN. The former Legislative Aide in the House of Representatives served as Executive Chairman of Kubau Local Government, Kaduna State, from 2021 to 2023.

โ€œHe holds a Master of Science, MSC, Degree in Finance from Coventry University, United Kingdom, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from the University of Abuja. Bashir Suleiman Zuntu has skills and competencies in Financial Management, Financial inclusion, and public administration, and Strategy Development and Implementation,โ€ he said.

The governor said the appointment takes immediate effect.
