Aliyu Zubair has teamed up with El-Kanemi Warriors ahead of the 2023-24 Nigeria National League season.
Zubairu signed a two-year contract with the Borno Army.
It would be recalled that the newly appointed head coach left Gombe United after the expiration of his contract at the end of the 2022-23 Nigeria Professional Football League season.
Zubairu expressed delight in joining El- Kanemi Warriors which he described as his home.
“Maiduguri is where I was born and the hierarchy of the club persuaded me to come and promote the team back to the premier league and stabilize it like I did with Gombe United,” he told the club’s media.
“I had a lot of offers from top Premier League clubs but I decided to choose El-Kanemi Warriors because the deal was more juicy.”
El- Kanemi Warriors were relegated from the NPFL at the end of last season.
