Work with us for 40 days to end sit-at-home orders – Ohanaeze to Southeast govs

The Ohanaeze Ndigbo socio-cultural organisation has requested to collaborate with Southeast governors and end the sit-at-home orders within 40 days.

A statement by Okechukwu Isiguzoro, a factional Secretary-General of Ohanaeze, lamented the involvement of Finland-based Biafra agitator Simon Ekpa in the criminality affecting the Southeast, noting that street urchins and criminals are using the sit-at-home order to cause violence in the Southeast.

The statement reads: “The Southeast region of Nigeria has been plagued by various challenges in recent times, including sit-at-home orders and violent agitations. In response to these issues, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, has issued a challenge to the Southeast governors.

“They have requested a 40-day period to address the situation and put an end to the sit-at-home orders and the violence that has ensued.

“The assertion that the Southeast governors should accept help from Ohanaeze Ndigbo is a call for collaboration and unity. It is essential for everyone involved to set aside personal differences and work towards a common goal—the restoration of peace and stability in the Southeast.

“Ohanaeze Ndigbo’s challenge to the Southeast governors to give them 40 days to end the sit-at-home orders and violent agitations in Southeast Nigeria is a call for collaboration and peace.”

Isiguzoro stressed that peace can be restored in the Southeast within 40 days if the governors listen to the Ohanaeze’s “homemade solutions.”
