The Nigerian Railway Corporation says it is yet to commence selling e-tickets for the Lagos-Ibadan route.
A statement issued by the Corporation’s Deputy Director Public Relations Officer, Yaqub Mahmoud said it has been alerted to a website created by cybercriminals, falsely offering Lagos to Ibadan train tickets online to the public.
The statement stated that fraudsters may have created this deceptive website to scam unsuspecting train passengers. Therefore, the NRC strongly advises Lagos to Ibadan train passengers to exercise caution and be vigilant against these cyberspace criminals.
He advised the train passengers to obtain their train boarding tickets at Railway stations as NRC is working hard to introduce secured online ticketing on Lagos to Ibadan and Warri to Itakpe train services very soon.
