Sporting Lagos Secures the Signing of South Sudan Midfielder

In a significant development in the Nigerian football landscape, Sporting Lagos has proudly announced the acquisition of promising midfielder, Joseph Loro, from South Sudan.

This eagerly anticipated signing comes after Loro arrived in Lagos on Tuesday to finalize the deal.

The 19-year-old prodigy has committed himself to a one-year contract with Paul Offor’s well-regarded side, effectively adding a new dimension to the team’s already formidable lineup.

Notably, Loro had been courted by Belgian Pro League outfit Standard Liege. However, he ultimately declined their offer in favor of joining Sporting Lagos, a testament to the club’s ever-growing stature.

As a prominent figure in his national team, Loro captained South Sudan’s U-20 squad. His excellence on the field was on full display during the 2023 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations in March, where he represented his country with utmost pride.

It is worth noting that Sporting Lagos emerged only a little over a year ago, yet their rapid ascent speaks volumes about their unwavering commitment to success.

The club’s remarkable journey culminated in their recent promotion to the prestigious Nigeria Professional Football League. This remarkable achievement was accomplished at the highly competitive Nigeria National League Super Eight playoffs held in Asaba last month.
