Ebonyi: Chairman Condemns Abduction of 5 Persons in Ivo

The Chairman of Ivo Local Government in Ebonyi State, Mr Emmanuel Ajah, vehemently condemned the recent abduction of a man, his wife, and three others by suspected herdsmen along Mile 2 in the state. This shocking incident occurred as the victims were returning from a burial, only to be ambushed and whisked away by the kidnappers to an unknown location. Tragically, the kidnappers left the victims’ children behind in the vehicle.

Mr. Ajah, who expressed his outrage to reporters in Abakaliki, stated, “There was a kidnapping incident reported in that area last Sunday. I have made concerted efforts to put an end to the pervasive insecurity in Ivo LGA. We have established three checkpoints and three military bases, primarily manned by Aguleri and Calaba personnel. Unfortunately, the kidnappers successfully abducted a woman, her husband, and their driver, leaving their children locked inside the vehicle. Additionally, they seized the victims’ belongings. Regrettably, the kidnappers also targeted one of my neighbors while he was working on his farm.”
